Depression isn't just sadness. It is emptiness, it is misery. It is pain and nothingness at once. When you are truly depressed you lack the ability or will to cheer yourself up. No one just ‘has depression.’ You suffer from it. This is depression:

I just finished my last year at Laurier last month so I'm off to Sheridan. It sucks that you won't be there, but grats on the apartment, and the boyfriend! Good luck getting into York! And you'll be close to Kayla since she's in Toronto going to Hummer in September, so you could hook up with her, or even me since I can take the go train!
